Where do I park?

Marrero’s does not provide parking, however there is a privately owned parking lot behind our property that sets aside 5 spaces for the convenience of our guests. They charge $25 per night and it is recommended to reserve parking in advance, as it often sells out. If you would like to reserve a parking space, please give us a call or reply to your confirmation email.

How close are you to attractions?

Located in the heart of downtown Key West, we are just steps away from nearly everything. We’re just half a block from legendary Duval Street, and conveniently located to dozens of shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars. And although we are close to all the action, we’re nestled in a mostly residential area on a one-way street, so our property remains a quiet and peaceful place to relax and unwind.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in is between 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

  • Early? If you will be arriving before 3:00 PM, we will try to check you in early, but it will not always be possible due to the time it takes to clean thoroughly between guests. If your room isn’t ready when you arrive, we’re happy to securely store your luggage while you grab some lunch or start exploring Key West.
  • Late? If you will be arriving after our front desk closes at 5:00 PM, we will email you instructions to pick up a late-arrival packet with your keys and directions. Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be arriving late, so we can prepare your packet and make sure you receive the instructions.

Check-out is 11:00 AM. We appreciate our guests adhering to this time, as housekeeping needs to clean & ready the room for the next guests. We are happy to store your luggage until 5:00 PM.

Why are the rates for your rooms so different?

We have 13 rooms, and all of them are unique in size, décor, and amenities. We do not assign rooms to our guests, we allow you to pick based on personal preference and budget. With options ranging from large/deluxe rooms, to smaller/economically priced rooms, we’re sure to have something for everyone.

Why are you adults-only?

The main reason for requiring all guests to be at least 21 years of age is our honor bar. We offer a selection of beverages for a nominal fee, where you can help yourself to a beer, water, or soda. Our liquor license dictates that all guests be of the legal U.S. drinking age of 21. The second reason for this policy is ambiance. We strive to offer a quiet, peaceful atmosphere for our guests to relax without the worry of children running through the halls or splashing in the pool.

What if I need to cancel or change my reservation?

Direct Reservations via or phone:

  • If you cancel your reservation 14 or more days prior to your scheduled arrival, the deposit will be refunded less a $35 cancellation fee. A cancellation or shortened stay or “no show” less than 14 days prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of the deposit. All cancellation requests must be received in writing/email.

OTA Reservations (i.e., Expedia, etc.)

  • If you cancel your reservation more than 6 weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date, there is no charge to cancel. If the reservation is cancelled within 6 weeks of arrival, the deposit will be forfeited. No refunds are issued for shortened stays unless the change is made more than 6 weeks before arrival. In the case of a “no show” the guest will be charged the total price of the reservation. *All requests to modify or cancel an OTA reservation must be made through the OTA with whom you made the reservation.*

What about hurricanes?

Hurricane Season in South Florida is June 1st – November 30th

We highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance on all reservations during any time of the year. This is the best way to protect your vacation investment. We do not sell travel insurance, but provide the following links for your convenience.

Key West is often in what the locals call “the cone of uncertainty” because the path of a hurricane can be so unpredictable – we get a lot of hurricane scares, but are luckily spared most of the time. Our historic mansion is over 130 years old and still standing strong!

If authorities issue a mandatory hurricane evacuation after you arrive in Key West, we will refund the unused portion of your stay. If you choose to leave when there is not a mandatory evacuation order in place, you will forfeit any remaining balance paid.

If you have a confirmed reservation but are unable to travel to Marrero’s Guest Mansion due to airport, ferry, or roadway closures resulting from a mandatory evacuation order, we will refund your deposit.

If you choose not to use your reservation due to an impending storm, but a mandatory evacuation order has not been issued, a refund cannot be offered and our standard cancellation policy applies. We do not refund for inclement weather including transportation difficulties such as delayed or cancelled flights or other circumstances affecting travel.
